I’m Speaking Your Language
Variety isn’t just the spice of life, it is my life. I’ve been blessed to have had a myriad of experiences — from earning a full basketball scholarship to Santa Clara University, to interning for the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees in Costa Rica, to learning three languages. It’s my diverse experiences that help me connect concepts that would seem disparate and make them universal and relatable.
After graduating from University of California, Hastings College of the Law, I began my legal career in the area of human rights with a focus on empowering underserved communities in countries such as Costa Rica, the Netherlands, Haiti, and Cuba. While running my own practice, The Wilkerson Law Office, I was recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Northern California Rising Star for four consecutive years.
Now serving as the Department Chair of the Legal Assisting Program at American River College in Sacramento, CA, I take joy in showing students how to explore, design, and thrive in careers within and beyond the field of law. To me the language of dreaming, striving and becoming your best and most unique self is a language that anyone can speak and understand.
“Life is about choices. We don’t all have the same ones, but we all have them. Choices bind us and break us. It’s how and why we make them that can make all the difference.”
