I finally internalized that helping my clients through coaching is different from participating in highly controlling, religious organization/cult, like the one I grew up in. I don’t think I would have had the self-trust and the confidence to go into coaching as a full-time career if I was still dealing with the cognitive dissonance that this thought created.
